Here are two li'l school outfits from this week. In anticipation of the new season of Mad Men (25 March!) I have been rewatching Seasons 1 and 2. Combine this with my weariness of winter's drab hues, and I've found myself quite fixated on vivid early '60s looks of late.....
Early '60s dress, thrifted Etienne Aigner penny loafers, '50s cowboy-print scarf, '50s belt.
I got this dress for my 18th birthday, and I have to say, it's one of my very favorites!! The damask print and vibrant blue are killer; such a pick-me-up on dreary days.
Now back to drabsville, but still keeping the '50s silhouettes at hand!
1950s Pendleton 49er, 1950s dress, 1950s fur collar, old riding boots, my grandmother's cameo
I've been doing this faux side-bang thing a lot lately, it's handy on those blustery days when my real bangs are just too unruly.
Sayonara! See ya later!
look at you! cute as a button! and that hair of yours, simply enviable. I love your blog. Your pendleton is to die for!
ReplyDeleteYou look divine especially with the cameo in your hair!
ReplyDeleteThanks dolls!!
ReplyDeleteRachael, I forgot to say that it's a silk rose in my hair! My cameo is on my collar, "American Gothic" style ;)
wonderful Dakota!!
ReplyDeleteI love your outfits!!! I especially like the fur collar on the pendleton. Could you do some hair tutorials? I'm interested in how you do your hair.
ReplyDeleteThanks : ) There's really no rhyme or reason to my hair method, unfortunately... it's naturally dead straight and incredibly thick, so I just toss it into sponge rollers or pincurls every night, and hope for the best!
DeleteGreat outfits. I really love how you added the fur collar to the 49er Pendleton. Your hair is looking amazing! I hope you get sunnier weather soon.
ReplyDeletepretty dress and belt
ReplyDeletelovely
ReplyDeleteNeither of your outfits are located in drabsville. They are both adorable! Most particularly the second.
ReplyDeleteI love the Pendleton jacket, and I ADORE your hair!
ReplyDeleteOh my you look like a living doll, please can I have your hair? But really gorgeous outfits, love the jacket and the blue dress swoonxxx

ReplyDeleteEeek, both of those dresses are wonderful! And your hair is consistently adorable - loving the faux bangs!
ReplyDeleteLOVE both of these outfits. I like the idea of using a fur collar on a 49er! Great combination. And I love that song from Bye Bye Birdie, too. I recently watched it for the first time & kicked myself for not watching it earlier.

I love all your outifts and the way you put them together.
ReplyDeleteYour hair is looking fantastic.
Both looks are so cute! :D The jacket in the second outfit is gorgeous--I've been scouring the thrifts lately hoping to find something similar (since it seems all I have is full-length coats!). ;)
ReplyDeleteYour hair! YOUR hair! Your HAIR! YOUR HAIR! Simply stunning.
ReplyDeleteThanks doll,
The Glamorous Housewife

ReplyDeleteI love your Pendleton! My boyfriend and I are a little Pendleton obsessed, the Vintage shop we work for are a Canadian company so we get a lot of Pendleton's coming through but I am yet to find one as old as yours. We are saving for one of their amazing Navajo blankets for our bed. :)
