Hope you had a dandy Easter weekend! Though it's still chilly, Spring is certainly in the air here in Vermont: maple sugaring season is in full swing, while the red-wing blackbirds and the robins have descended in droves. Nothing says Springtime to me quite like the call of the red-wings as they build their nests among the cattails behind our house. (And any day now, the spring peepers will be adding their voices to the chorus!! Exciting times, man!)
I also went to visit my beautiful horse Chinook
this weekend. While I still own him, he's gone to live with another
little girl, who can lavish all the time and attention on him I can't! He
seems so happy and I think they're a great team, but I sure do miss that spotted fool ;)
PS: Here is a close-up of my Easter dress, a lovely 1950s nylon confection:
Your 50s dress looks so darling, perfect for Easter :) And your horse is such a beautiful sight!
ReplyDeleteWith each new post I am more and more impressed Dakota! You are truly a gem and I'm so so thankful that I stumbled upon your blog ♡♡♡
ReplyDeleteYou're too sweet, Kailey!! This comment made my day ^.^
DeleteThat dress is just beautiful! Those colours! That lovely floral design! You are a breath of fresh air.
ReplyDeleteAAhh you look adorable in your Easter dress, loved you have paired it with a blouse. The weather is so crappy here no sign of Spring! xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you! And I wish I didn't have to wear that blouse... while it LOOKS like Spring here, the warm weather has yet to arrive! Grrr!
DeleteYou always look so dreamy in all your photos I love all of your outfits :)

Beautiful ensemble. I just adore your boudoir, too. Happy belated easter!
ReplyDeleteThank you ladies!! :D Happy belated Easter to all who celebrated!
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrifically lovely floral print frock. There's really nothing like a good vintage flower pattern to set my heart a flutter (so hence why parts of my closet look rather like a June garden :) ).
ReplyDeleteWishing you a marvelous month of April, dear gal,
♥ Jessica
Amazing dress, love it! And I love your blog so I'm the new follower :)

You look gorgeous in that beautiful dress, I adore the pattern. And so very much like the Liz Taylor a la National Velvet in that photograph with your sweet horse. Dreamy!
ReplyDeleteThank you! National Velvet was my absolute favorite film when I was little!! (Although my pony isn't half as talented as the Pie ;)
DeleteSuch a perfect Easter dress, the colours are beautiful! Spring where you live sounds so wonderful and exciting, all of those birds! Also I must say I love the doll that's in these pictures with you, she looks like a lovely lady :D
ReplyDeleteThanks!! And that's my creepy '30s boudoir doll. I forgot about her when I snapped those pictures; she can be a bit polarizing with her cracked face and eerie stare, haha.
Deletelovely dress ... and adorable two tone shoes.
ReplyDeleteoh, i miss horses and riding so much ...
Such a lovely dress. And I wish my hair was a thick as yours, I've always wanted thick hair. It also runs in my mom's family, and I got all my mom's genes except for hair and eyes, so I just have thin stupid hair, ugh. /Rant, haha.
ReplyDeleteAww, thank you!! My thick hair gets tangled and ratty so easily though... the grass is always greener! ;)
DeleteYou look beautiful! This dress is so pretty with its spring flowers and colors--great Easter dress, great all-around warm weather dress.
