- "Good old summer time,
- When you day's work is over
- Then you are in clover,
- And life is one beautiful rhyme..."
Gee, I just have no concept of time anymore... good ol' summertime. Every day seems just like the one before, except even more mystical. Summer in Vermont is like a delicate dream, when the forests and rundown buildings are overcome with twisting vines, and time slows to a pleasant creep. It can also be this melancholic time, when nostalgia haunts the heavy air, and the looming winter adds a blue note to every evening. I mean, it's like another dimension, and the days are just packed!!

These were TASTY!
Lovely lavender princess frock!!
TRUE LOVE ♥
Tragically, this beautiful mare Honey recently passed away :(
Oh, and I found this "Pennsylvania Tires" sign in the middle of the forest!! It's about as tall as me, handpainted, and, err, riddled with bullet holes (adds character?).
Hope your summer is charming, darling. ♥♥♥
Oh, Vermont looks like a dream this time of year. I want so desperately to visit your neck of the woods, including New Hampshire and Connecticut, after seeing a lot of the US by now. It seems like an area I would feel at home in.
ReplyDeleteI love both of your outfits! The collars on both of them are especially adorable.
And, a request: Hair tutorial! Hair tutorial!
All my love to Honey, who had a beautiful mane, and must've been a sweet mare in her day.
xx
Ohhh, I'd be useless at a tutorial... hair's all about luck & gumption (& teasing) for me!
DeleteIf you ever do venture to New England, you should visit me!! :)
I love the first picture of you (well I like them all, but you know what I mean!)
ReplyDeleteBoth dresses are stunning and what a find with that sign!
Tupps x
Everything is so beautiful and green...so different than our dry and dusty here out west ~Just beautiful ~Love Heather
ReplyDeleteThese photos make me nostalgic for when I used to take summer trips to Vermont and New Hampshire years ago. It's been a dream of mine to have a log cabin summer home up there someday. There's just something so pleasantly charming about the forests in the mountains.
ReplyDeleteI always feel torn between the exciting draw of the city, and the sweet solitude & simplicity of the country!!
DeleteOh R.I.P Honey, what a beauty she was. :(
ReplyDeleteDakota your photo's make it look as magical as it sounds and you just fit so perfectly. That first picture is just wow! I hope you are enjoying every minute of it. xx
Both outfits are so deeply lovely and spot-on perfect for the dog days of summer, I couldn't possibly pick a favourite, because I'm equally smitten with both (and may I just say, your hair in the first is knock-your-socks off fantastic!).
ReplyDeleteBig hugs & joyful weekend wishes,
♥ Jessica
what a pretty place!!!! and you look super cute. Love that lavender dress.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you snaffled the sign from the forest, well I hope you did, it's perfect:). Your hair is growing fast! It's seems only a short time ago when you had it cut, I love your up-do so much - maybe a tutorial? thank you for sharing your beautiful countryside, I always look forward to your posts:)) xo
ReplyDeleteIt was even longer, but I cut a few inches off!! I am coming around to love the short locks ;)
DeletePS: You bet your boots I took that sign outta the woods and into my home :D
DeleteThat lavender dress *_* Absolutely perfect! Also, what gorgeous horses! I'm lucky enough to have an aunt who has 4 horses and lets me ride them :D
ReplyDeleteHey thanks all!!! :) ♥♥
ReplyDeleteThese photos are just glorious... Oh I can't wait for our southern summer! (I have been tallying up blossom sightings - like a secret floral countdown to light and warmth!)

I love how timeless these photos look, especially since you're wearing such gorgeous vintage dresses (I especially like the purple one). Vermont looks so lush and green!
ReplyDeleteYou and your hair are gorgeous. And that sign--what a find!
ReplyDeleteI love the dress, the whole aesthetic.. I was also wondering if you have ever listened to Gillian Welch or Kelly Jo Phelps.. They are two of my favorite artists and you may enjoy their music too.. Great blog!! Keep up the great work!
