Here's a li'l more from my voyage to Old México!
Mi madre resides in a beautiful village down in Baja California, if you are wondering just what I was doing there. I spent most mornings riding Coco down the beach, watchin' the pelicans play, and by day explored the local villages & desert hills. Nights I came home to my own li'l bungalow, and even had a darling Chihuahua named Tammy Faye who slept on the end of my bed. My mother is just a wonderful hostess (and cook!), and truth to be told, I was kinda sad to leave that beautiful land behind!
The magnificent Hotel Riviera del Pacifico, former casino and playground to Hollywood stars during the '30s and '40s. Myrna Loy, Gene Tierney, Xavier Cugat, Marion Davies, Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball are just a few of the luminaries to have graced its grand halls.
There is also a legend that the Margarita was invented here, but just about every historic Mexican resort/bar has a similar claim so I'd take that one with a grain of salt.
Looks like an amazing trip! Great pictures .

ReplyDeleteWell, that looks like the nice part of Baja. I took a road trip down there a couple of years ago and I didn't see any cute villages like that one.

Looks amazing. I've never been to Mexico, and the only bit of the States I've ever been too is the New York and New Jersey area.
ReplyDeleteYour photos do make me miss the sun though, the weather in London is somewhat dire at the moment and I could do with some sunshine (I was only on holiday about a month ago, but it's never enough).
I love your gingham dress paired with the bow in your hair and the sunglasses by the way.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! I love the quality of the light - so hazy and deserty. I love the contrast of the harsh but beautiful landscape. And that picture of the sea with the pink flowers in the foreground is just perfect.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful, tranquil, soul soothing kind of location. I can just feel the intense south-of-the-boarder heat baking into my skin as I admire these lovely travel snaps (all the while swooning endlessly over your completely adorable hair).

It's so gorgeous. I am loving your photos and so envious I live too far away to come visit!
ReplyDeleteSuch gorgeous photos! That gingham dress is so lovely & practical for a girl on the go. Did you take these with your Argus c3? I just got my hands on the later version--a c4--and I'm really loving it! It's deceptively simple compared to some of the later film cameras, but the photos are just as wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThe landscape is certainly amazing! Such a sweet dress too:)
