songstress style: nikki lane

Lately I've been listening to this honky tonk songbird over and over; her music makes for the perfect summer soundtrack! Miss Lane has a distinctly retro outlaw-country sound, drenched in pedal steel & twang, and yet refreshingly new. Oh.... and she also has the most splendid '60s desert drifter style and big country hair.

She has a new album out called "Walk Of Shame"; you should buy it!

Now you tell me: what new (or old) acts are you all digging right now?

  8. I really like how the video played with the outlaw themes in such a fun way. Nikki on her motorized bike sans helmet...what a badass. And the Loretta gown with the goat was too fun.

  9. what a cutie! I am usually totally in the dark when it comes to new tunes, so thanks for the introduction. I love all her cowgirl get ups! Currently, I'm really into Mississippi John Hurt, Fred McDowell, and Bessie Jones. I'm gonna make you a cd soon.
