I love Edward Hopper. I often picture myself as one or the other of two of Hopper's girls. The solitary girl in the cafe is one of these. The other is the girl in the green sweater in the cafe having coffee/tea with her girlfriend (not included in your post). Thanks so much for reminding me of this!
Ginger-- it's the light that gets me too! Some of it's so stark, some so dreamy; always really atmospheric!
Wardrobeales-- oh yeah, "Chop Suey", right? I almost snuck that one in, but chose "Automat". I love their 20s dresses, cloches, and the lonely lighting in both!
i love the art of Norman Rockwell

ReplyDeleteLovely art and wonderful inspiration. I would gladly wear anything in these paintings :-) xx
ReplyDeletePaint me in to the fourth one, please.
ReplyDeleteI love the light in Hooper's paintings, everything feels so crisp and lonely.
Mmmm I love Hopper's worlds! I would quite happily escape into one for the day too! :)
