prints charming

My fondness for bright florals and novelty prints is no secret; unfortunately, winter clothes (well, the sensible ones, at least) tend to be made from warm but drab wools and heavy solids. Even the cutest prints would be hidden under a heavy coat anyway. As spring arrives, one of the things I'm most excited about is being able to prance around in my light cotton frocks again!

Here's a sampler of some of the pretty prints in my closet right now:

I consider my dresses to be as dear to me as children (just kidding!!) (...sort of) and I find it really hard to pick a favorite; however, this rather simple cornflower blue 1940s day dress would be in my all-time top 5:

Now all I need is a few warm days so I can actually wear these again!

  5. I agree.. novelty prints (esp. cotton) melt my heart. Now, prints + rickrack, like that first dress, REALLY make me weak in the knees. Oh, I also consider my frocks like my babies. hehe

  8. Thank you kindly, ladies-- and thanks for the springtime wishes as well! Cold weather or no, I'm defiantly wearing my cottons anyway, just paired with wool tights and a cardigan ; )

It's funny, I'd take an adorable novelty print day dress over a silk gown any day!

I myself am struggling through Autumn here, clingy furiously to my summer dresses and being somewhat impractical by still wearing them..

  11. All of these prints are so beautiful! I also consider my dresses to be like my children- I am very very protective. I would love to see some pics of your mom- you should post them. Technicolor hair and combat boots sound amazing. :-) xoxo
